We have been reading about the Victorian Age. We found out that children used to learn which countries were part of the British Empire by looking on a map. Bmxing

BMXing is going to become a Commonwealth game in 2018. The person that made up this idea was Taiaha that lives in Auckland in GI.

In this event you have to do heaps of tricks. The equipment is a BMX and a hat to keep you safe.

For the venue you need a skatepark. For the players you need a 2 person to play in this game. For the rules you have to not push the person. If you push the other person you are out of the game and you are not allowed to take the chain of their bike.

Culture is when you speak a different language. It makes countries special. In Cook Island culture we eat raw fish, puka puka which is a purple fruit and crab.

Different countries have different cultures. In Japanese culture the old people wear a kimono, put flowers in a vase and drink tea.

Rugby Sevens

What is rugby?

Rugby sevens is a team sport. There are 2 teams of seven on the field. They play 2 halves of 7 minutes each. Each team tries to score points and beat the other team. Everyone in the team has a different job.

What equipment do they use?

They have a mouth guard, kicking T, a goal post and a rugby ball rugby boots

What positions do they play?

They have a hook, winger, front right centre and props. They play on different parts of the field.

The commonwealth games is about making history in 1946 we did have the commonwealth games because there were war and the first commonwealth in

1930 in Canada. 11 countries took 400 people to the games to compete in 6 different sport and 59 events. the games are played every 4 years.

The commonwealth games has changed a lot even the name of it. In 1930 to 1950 it was called the British Empire Games. Next it was called the British Empire and Commonwealth Games .

Then it was called the British Commonwealth Games and now it is called The Commonwealth Games.

Skate Park

Skate Park

In the holidays, at 12 o’clock, I went to the skate park in Otahuhu with my two sister and Mum.

When we got there I got my skateboard out and then I  went to the ramp. Then I rode down it but I slipped! Luckily I held on the skateboard.

Then I went down the ramp again but then I didn't fall down  and it was fun and then I went home and had a sandwich.

Then I went in the lounge and watch tv and I was watching spooksville. and it was  scary.

Sunk by a whale

The Essex was sailing in 1820 and it was sailing in the Pacific Ocean. They were trying to find the whale which was colud Moby Bick. But then the captain spotted the whale then all the crew went to the whale.

Then the captain shot the harpoon. But

the captain got stuck in the rope. Then the whale hit the

Essex 2 Times. The whale was about 32 meters. But when the whale hit the boat it made a hlow and then the water got in the boat and it sunk.

Only 20 crew survived but then the crew stayed to get hungry then the crew got the young man and then they shot him with the gun and then they eat him.

My nana and papa

Deep flight

Taiaha swimming

we are lucky to have professional coaches teaching us in our swimming lessons, so l made the most of it and worked really hard to improve  my teacher  

When we got to the GI pools our teacher sent us to go and get changed Into our togs. you need to have a shower to wash the wax off your hair before you get in the pool. when we got  out of the shower we were shivering and shaking like snow flakes.

When we were doing freestyle using our flutterboard we were floating and we had to kick  to go fast. If we didn’t kick we will go slow we kicked fast propelling through the water  

on the final day of swimming we had a relay race to see  how much we had improved.The instructors called six people at a time to see how good we are

Our lessons were hard at work at times, but really worth it.

In the weekend I went to the skate park and when I got there I saw my friend and when I got to the skate park and it was cool there was heps of people there and then I went to the ramp and was cool when I went down it was a little bit fun. Then I went to my friends house and we played on his x box 1 and we played call of duty and then I went to GI. With my friend and we had Mc Donalds and it was nice and I went home and had a sleep in my bed and then I went to pools and. We were doing some bombing and we went in the warm pool and I went to water full and it felt nice and then I went home to which TV and I which regular show and it was funny and then I went to make a jam sandwich and it was nice as. Then I went to the play grad and we went on to the slide and it was fun and then I went to the skate park and I had my bike to and it was a red line b m x and it went fast as and I Dana a bunny hop. It was the best day ever.
